MESSAGE

"Whatever I paints, landscapes, still lifes, interiors,
the subject doesn't really matter.

While painting, one goes trough emotional and rational stages.
A painting shows one's view of things,
the environment, the time which we live in.

The subject therefore is of minor importance to me.
In my work I feel free, powerful, autonomous.

The fact my paintings suggest space, has no special meaning,
Painting is a skill which speaks for itself...

Re-inventing the image of reality appeals on one's sympathy
and suggests originality, I have nothing to do with that.
The "extra" for me is the inter action;
for the rest my paintings are abstract
like interiors, landscapes, still lifes...."

In the seventies, Viegers was a well known model.
Besides being a painter, she frequently went to Japan to model.
Her posters, showing the latest brand of toothpaste and soft drinks,
could be seen on every bill board in the Japanese subway stations
and in the megastore of Isetan.
