FRANK HOENJET ABOUT FRANS FRANCISCUS
(pieces of an interview)
Today, the world has become a global
village because of
modern communication and transportation advances.
In this world,
the work of art has become the refuge of a kaleidoscopic vision.
Franciscus is a true habitant
of our global village.
Therefore, his opinion about art is far beyond dogmatic.
Every canvas is a boisterous witness of art
as a refuge and therefore an invitation to fundamental critics
to push aside the art work as if it weren't a serious piece of
art.
Travelling through time and space
with a case of mistaken identity is typical
for Franciscus' narrated
work,
which is consiously combined with deformation of anatomy,
perspective and proportion.
Colours appear to be almoust candy-like
as one can see in artificial fruit.
Franciscus masterly reforms big
religious, mythological,
contemporarial historical art themes into room temperature.
With the utmost pleasure,
Franciscus kicks at the fundaments of art and the art world.
His weapons are his mild irony and his incredible joy for painting.
His technique and themes play on
the always sensitive human behaviour. |
